wikileaks to expose internal bank documents →
Wikileaks will expose internal communications from a prominent bank. I don’t expect it’ll expose anything new, but it’ll make it visceral and real. Hopefully, it’ll affect those defenders of the banks we keep voting in to office against our own best interests. The data dump will lay bare the finance firm’s secrets on the Web for every customer, every competitor, every...

“The investigations, if they bear fruit, have the potential to expose a culture...”
– And this surprises who? The wages of deregulation. They were put in place for a reason, folks, and in response to real problems, not made-up ideologies. Let’s hope there’s an actual prosecution. And that it’s milked for all its worth.

This worked out relatively well. I removed all personal stuff from the...

Inappropriate
You know, this is a totally inappropriate use of Tumblr. I mean, really. Tumblr is kinda like Twitter, only with more text, and, you know, media. But not that much more text. Not like the kind of stuff I write. Thing is, when I look around the web at fun little trivia, it never occurs to me to reference it in a blog posting. Never. I suppose I ought to try. This writing about software...

Amazon EC2
Lately, I’ve been spending a lot of time working with Amazon EC2 instances. There’s a lot to like about them, and perhaps I’ll give a longer presentation about them (from a user’s point of view), but one thing that has me a bit nervous is the network latency. I’ve got a web app on one machine, and two Mongo DB instances on two other machines. The Mongo DB instances...
